APS Student Caucus - Campus Representative Program

Most students know that getting involved with a professional psychological organization is a great way to develop leadership skills, network, contribute to the field, and, of course, build a strong vita. But most of us are also short on time. So, this year's APSSC Executive Board has come up with a way to get even the busiest students involved: the new APSSC Campus Representative Program.

Here's the basic idea. In an effort to increase communication with student affiliates and to "put a face" on the APSSC, we want to create a network of liaisons at as many colleges and universities as possible - people to serve as official representatives of the APSSC. We envision that in this role, individuals would be in charge of making monthly announcements at their schools about the good things that the APSSC has to offer, e.g. travel assistance for the annual Convention, student research awards and grant money, and opportunities to publish articles in the Observer.

We'll invite you to join our exclusive Campus Representative Group Website where you can download the info each month; you just put the word out via departmental email lists, bulletin boards (we will even upload the fliers to print and post), and quick announcements at Psi Chi or other psych-related meetings. At the NEW group site you can network with other Reps, get copies of past E-Newsletters, and share links.

If you are interested or have questions, please email Amy Crook, APSSC Membership and Volunteers Officer, with the following information: (1) Your full name; (2) your school's name; (3) your status as a student [full/part-time; undergrad/grad; year in school]; and (4) your email. Please note that only one Representative will be accepted per campus.
