APS Student Caucus
The APS Student Caucus is a representative body of the student affiliates of the Association for Psychological Science.
Dear Student Affiliates,
Thank you for being a member of the only organization in the world solely dedicated to psychological science: APS!
I encourage you to bookmark both the APS main site as well as our APSSC student section. Here you will find information on the many programs the APSSC sponsors (e.g., research grants, research award competitions, writing and reviewing opportunities, mentoring programs), the resources necessary for students to contribute to psychological science (i.e., grants and other funding sources), service opportunities (e.g., the campus representatives program), and access to timely and pertinent information in our field. Please spread the word about APS and visit our site often.
If you are a member of Facebook, the APSSC has established a vibrant community of like-minded student affiliates. Only current APS Student Affiliates may apply to join this private group . If you have any general questions about the APSSC Facebook group, please direct your questions to APSSC Communications and Marketing Officer, Peter Vernig. If you have membership-oriented questions please direct them to Kris Gunawan, APSSC Membership and Volunteers Officer. I hope you will join the APSSC Facebook group to network with fellow students, contribute your suggestions and expertise, and keep in touch with the APSSC Executive Board.
Moreover, I look forward to hearing your suggestions on how the APSSC can better serve the needs of student affiliates. Please do not hesitate to e-mail me or contact me on Facebook. I appreciate any and all feedback on how to strengthen our Caucus.
On behalf of the 2009-2010 APSSC Executive Board, thank you for being an APS Member. We look forward to meeting you in Boston for the 2010 Convention!
Sincerely,
Jeremy Ashton Houska
President, Association for Psychological Science Student Caucus (APSSC)

RiSE-UP: (Research on Socially and Economically Underrepresented Populations) is a group that works to enhance awareness of the need for research by and/or about underrepresented populations. For information on how to get involved, email the RiSE-UP Coordinator.
Campus Representatives: In an effort to increase communication with student affiliates and to "put a face" on the APSSC, we want to create a network of liaisons at as many colleges and universities as possible - people to serve as official representatives of the APSSC. Email the Membership and Volunteers Officer for more information.
Mentorship: The APS Mentorship Program was designed to help undergraduate students navigate their current research plans and future career goals in the field of psychology. To this end, the program attempts to pair each interested undergraduate with a graduate student who serves as a peer mentor. Interested undergraduates and graduate students should email the Undergraduate Advocate.
